Saw and Insidious co-creator Leigh Whannell is trying his hand at sci-fi in the upcoming Upgrade. However, this isn't your normal sci-fi affair as evidenced by the new Red Band trailer, which is just as gory as any horror movie, if not more. The Blumhouse produced Upgrade is set to hit theaters next week and the latest trailer focuses on the blood and the praise the critics have been heaping on the film, with loud gunshots punctuating each word that pops up on the screen.

The ultra-violent Upgrade red band trailer is definitely not safe for work or watching around children for that matter. The violent vision of the future has been talked about since its SXSW premiere earlier this year, where it took home the Midnight Audience Award, and the latest trailer is here to help persuade you to get off the couch and into theaters next week to see it on the big screen in all of its bloody glory. If you're looking for the setup, this trailer is not for you. Instead, this is a highlight reel, ready to knock anybody off the fence and into theaters.

Logan Marshall-Green stars as Grey Trace, who is on the hunt for the men who murdered his wife right before his eyes and left him unable to walk. Trace is later approached by a billionaire investor who offers him an experimental cure to his paralysis with an implant called STEM, but the tech ends up having a lot more power than just curing Trace's paralysis. Grey Trace is now a futuristic killer with immense power and the ability to "relentlessly claim vengeance against those who murdered his wife and left him for dead."

The setup of Upgrade does not seem unique on the surface. Man's wife is killed, revenge, super weapons, etc. However, Blumhouse and Leigh Whannell have taken the story and turned it on its head, which should not be surprising considering the success that Blumhouse has had over the last few years. The full-tilt action paired with the horror and sci-fi elements makes sure that Upgrade stands apart from anything else that will be shown this summer on the big screen. With Sicario 2 also set to hit theaters in a few weeks, the summer is starting to look a bit darker than normal. Who doesn't need some dark violence this summer?

As previously mentioned, Upgrade hits theaters on June 1st, which is just around the corner. If you're into intense action with sci-fi and horror elements, there should be no holding you back from seeing the movie in theaters. Just take a look at the 1-minute Red Band trailer and try to read the praise from critics amidst the blood, chaos, broken bones, sliced mouths, and jarringly loud gunshots. Upgrade looks to be a full assault on the senses and you can get a taste below.

Set in riot-torn, near-future Los Angeles, Hotel Artemis is an original, high-octane action-thriller starring Jodie Foster as The Nurse, who runs a secret, members-only hospital for criminals. Jodie Foster (The Silence of the Lambs) is joined by an all-star cast that includes Sterling K. Brown (American Crime Story, This Is Us) as Waikiki, Sofia Boutella (The Mummy, Star Trek Beyond) as Nice, Jeff Goldblum (Thor: Ragnarok, Jurassic Park) as The Wolf King/Niagara, Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta) as Honolulu, Jenny Slate (Zootopia, Obvious Child) as Morgan, Zachary Quinto (Star Trek) as Ilya, Charlie Day (Pacific Rim Uprising) as Acapulco, and Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers: Infinity War) as Everest.

The film was written and directed by Drew Pearce (Iron Man 3), marking his directorial debut. Producers for the film include Marc Platt, Adam Siegel, Stephen Cornwell, and Simon Cornwell.

Check Into the New Hotel Artemis Red Band Trailer

A new red band trailer for Sorry to Bother You has arrived. This marks the directorial debut for Boots Riley, who also wrote the script for what promises to be one of the most unique moviegoing experiences of the year. The new trailer has telemarketers putting on their best "white voice," a very uncomfortable phone call from a telemarketer while people are getting busy and oh so much more.

To get things going, we see someone snorting a ridiculously long line of cocaine, just to set the tone. It only gets more wild from there. This movie looks surreal, imaginative and totally nuts. Much of the footage used in this red band trailer was also included in the first trailer released in March. But this one is packed with F-bombs, borderline nudity and other things of that nature which provide a better idea of the unhinged, bizarre flick that is coming our way this summer.

Sorry to Bother You takes place in an alternate present-day version of Oakland, California. Telemarketer Cassius Green discovers a magical key to professional success, propelling him into a macabre universe that turns his life upside down. The cast for the movie includes Lakeith Stanfield, who stars as Cassius and is coming fresh off of his memorable turn in last year's Get Out. The ensemble is rounded out with Tessa Thompson (Thor: Ragnarok), Armie Hammer (Call Me by Your Name), Terry Crews (The Expendables), Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead), Omari Hardwick (Power), Jermaine Fowler (Superior Donuts), and Danny Glover (Lethal Weapon).

Sorry to Bother You has been a festival favorite already this year after being screened at both Sundance and SXSW. So far, it has received rave reviews, currently boasting a 92 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Whether or not that will actually translate to business at the box office is one thing, but it's clear that this insane looking movie is working for critics who have already witnessed it.

The marketing campaign for this goes beyond a trailer and some posters. The studio has also launched a merch store, which features some of the distinctive earrings featured in the movie, as well as shirts, lighters and other items of the like. One item of note is the actual Toyota Tercel featured in the movie, which is listed for $23,999.40. Buyer beware; the car may not actually drive, but the notes promise that it is an actual car, even though it looks to have been pieced together from several different cars.

Sorry to Bother You arrives in theaters on July 6 in limited release and should see an expanded release in the weeks that follow. Sorry to Bother You Red Band Trailer Takes a Walk on the Wild Side

The Happytime Murders trailer is here. This thing is very much red band and totally NSFW. More so than anything you're likely to see for a wide release movie. You've been warned. Shockingly, this comes from the mind of Brian Henson, son of Jim Henson, but this is not in any way what you might expect from a name like that. This trailer proudly boasts that the same guy who directed Muppet Christmas Carol, Muppet Treasure Island and Muppets Tonight is responsible for this debauchery. And you're not ready for the debauchery in store.

This first footage for The Happytime Murders is in no way messing around. Puppets getting blown to pieces, puppet prostitutes, who happen to use the term "rotten cotton," which has disgusting but kind of hilarious implications. This thing is so very NSFW that it's hard to believe it even got made. Let alone from the son of the guy who created The Muppets. What a time to be alive. Perhaps the icing in the cake is getting to see someone snort ecstasy, namely Melissa McCarthy, through a piece of licorice. The last shot in the trailer is particularly surprising for several reasons.

No Sesame. All Street. The Happytime Murders is a filthy comedy set in the seedy underbelly of Los Angeles where puppets and humans coexist. Two clashing detectives with a shared secret, one human (Melissa McCarthy) and one puppet, are forced to work together again to solve the brutal murders of the former cast of a beloved classic puppet television show. In addition to McCarthy, who looks like she's having a ton of fun here, the movie also stars Maya Rudolph, Joel McHale, Leslie David Baker, and Elizabeth Banks. But this feels like the kind of movie that will have room for some cameos.

There is definitely a bit of a Who Framed Roger Rabbit? vibe going on here. Only if that movie were extremely R-rated. Despite all of the low-brow humor in here, taking the guy who probably formed a lot of people's childhoods with his work on The Muppets and having him take puppets, put them in a world with humans and make it into a seedy crime drama is kind of ingenious. If they can let some of the cleverness shine through in the midst of all the sex, drugs and language, this could be something pretty great.

The screenplay for this insanity comes from Todd Berger, with a story he and Brian Henson cooked up. The movie is set to arrive in theaters on August 17, so we can all close out the summer movie season in style. This feels like a movie that is either going to be surprisingly great, or amazingly terrible. Either way, it feels like the kind of thing you're going to have to see to believe.
