Andy Serkis wasn't kidding around when he first declared that his Mowgli movie will be a lot darker than the story Disney told through the Jungle Book. Rudyard Kipling's source material was changed quite a bit when Disney first adapted the story back in 1967. Walt Disney decided to take out some of the darker elements in order to make The Jungle Book an animated movie for all ages. And it worked. The Jungle Book was a huge success for Disney and was again back in the public eye when Jon Favreau directed a live-action version of the story in 2016. However, Andy Serkis has unveiled the first trailer from his Mowgli, which is sticking closer to Rudyard Kipling's source material.

Disney's live-action version of The Jungle Book was basically a retelling of the animated version of the story that came out in 1967. Andy Serkis' Mowgli promises a darker version of the story and the trailer delivers. Benedict Cumberbatch is downright frightening as Shere Khan while Andy Serkis' Baloo is more of a drill sergeant this time around. Rohan Chand's performance as Mowgli is perfectly teased in the first trailer, as is Christian Bale as Bagheera.

Andy Serkis directed Mowgli with a script written by Callie Kloves and the movie was originally set to come out in 2016, but Warner Bros. decided to wait to spend more time on the digital effects. Coincidentally, 2016 was the same year that Disney's live-action version of The Jungle Book hit theaters, which was also a factor in pushing the release date back. Mowgli was first placed into development in 2012 and even had Ron Howard's name was attached to direct at one point before Serkis stepped up to the task.

According to Andy Serkis, Mowgli will challenge people's perceptions of the Jungle Book story. While there will be some differences from Rudyard Kipling's 1894 book, it largely sticks close to the source material. The motion capture maestro' s dark take on the beloved story has been gaining hype over the last handful of years, which will only grow once the first Mowgli footage starts to spread around online.

Mowgli hits theaters on October 19th and in addition to Andy Serkis, Christian Bale, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Rohan Chand, the movie also stars Matthew Rhys, Tom Hollander, Cate Blanchett, Freida Pinto, Peter Mullan, Naomie Harris, Eddie Marsan, and Jack Reynor. Though people have been curious of Serkis' take on the Jungle Book story, it will be interesting to see how the general public responds to Mowgli. Fans of Rudyard Kipling's book will more than likely enjoy and appreciate the darker tone, but will it be able to conquer the box office? One thing is for sure: Mowgli certainly looks awesome. Mowgli Trailer: Andy Serkis Puts A Dark Spin on The Jungle Book

SyFy's insanely popular Sharknado series will officially ending with Sharknado 6, which just got the official title of The Last Sharknado: It's About Time. In addition to the title, SyFy also released a brief teaser trailer to get fans excited for the late summer release date. SyFy is going to celebrate the release of the sixth and final movie in the series with an entire week of shark themed programming during what they've titled Sharknado week, which is coming a few weeks after the official Shark Week, so it's like getting two Shark Weeks. Sharknado 6 will premiere at the end of the Sharknado week on Sunday, August 19th.

Things looked pretty bleak at the end of Sharknado 5: Global Swarming, with Ian Ziering's Fin character alone after the Earth had been destroyed. In Sharknado 6, Fin must go back in time to stop the original Sharknado and save the world. One has to wonder if the Avengers 4 screenwriters knew about this plot before writing the upcoming Marvel movie. The official synopsis reads.

"All is lost, or is it? Fin unlocks the time-traveling power of the Sharknados in order to save the world and resurrect his family. In his quest, Fin fights Nazis, dinosaurs, knights, and even takes a ride on Noah's Ark. This time, it's not how to stop the Sharknados, it's when."

The brief teaser trailer for Sharknado 6 obviously doesn't show much, but it promises carnage across history. Fin is going to fight Nazis, which leads one to believe that a shark could maybe prevent the Holocaust from happening by eating Hitler. Hopefully they learn from Deadpool 2 and make sure it's the adult Hitler instead of the baby version of the dictator. Elsewhere, Fin is going fight dinosaurs, knights, and catch a ride on Noah's Ark. Basically, Sharknado 6 is going to have a lot of everything.

In addition to Ian Ziering, Sharknado 6 will also star Tera Reid and Vivica A. Fox along with a whole bunch of celebrity cameos that are being kept under wraps for the time being. Famous weatherman Al Roker, Benji Bronk from the Howard Stern Show, Corey Taylor from Slipknot, and a ton of other celebrities from all walks of life have had small roles in each of the past five Sharknado movies. Since Sharknado will reportedly be the last, expect quite a bit of star power behind this one.

Sharknado 6 will premiere August 19th on the SyFy Network, so there's still plenty of time to catch up and re-watch the first five Sharknado installments before the end comes. And while the wait seems long now, a full-length trailer is expected to be released in the coming weeks to truly get the hype pumping for Sharknado 6. It looks like the final movie will be the most absurd out of all of the previous installments, which is saying a lot. Sharknado 6 Teaser Trailer Goes Back in Time, Reveals Official Title

HBO has released the first full-length trailer for the long awaited Fahrenheit 451 remake featuring Michael B. Jordan as Guy Montag, a man who is starting to question is job. This adaptation of Ray Bradbury's iconic novel has been in the development since 2016, and we've previously seen small teases since then, but this is the first real look at what we're in for when the movie debuts at the end of May on HBO. The new Fahrenheit 451 trailer is the best look at the plot so far, as well as the feel and tone of the story, which fall in line with the classic tale.

The previous teaser trailer for Fahrenheit 451 told us that books are evil, and they need to all be burned. The new trailer sheds some light on why they have to be burned in this dystopian landscape, which leads Michael B. Jordan's Guy Montag to question the reasoning behind all of the burning. He asks aloud if it's true that fireman used to put out fires as opposed to setting them. An A.I. voice replies that it's a myth and indicates that Montag might not be feeling okay.

Guy begins to question what's going on around him more and more until the end of the Fahrenheit 451 trailer, where he's clearly on the run. Michael Shannon plays Captain Beatty and Michael B. Jordan's Montag is seen asking him, "why do we burn?" This is question that will be answered more in-depth in the movie, like the book, but Beatty alludes to making everybody equal again, which as one can tell, isn't really the case at all. Beatty says, "We are not born equal. We must be made equal by the fire...and then we can be happy." Montag isn't satisfied by the answer and he can be seen reading later in the trailer, looking for his own answers.

Anyone who his familiar with Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 knows that Guy Montag's quest doesn't end with just wanting to read more books. Montag meets Clarisse, who urges Montag to go even further into his rebellion, risking his life. Bradbury's book is already pretty grim and dark, but Michael Shannon has promised that the HBO movie will be a "modernized, gritty take" on the Fahrenheit 451 story. The movie is coming at the perfect time since some of the stuff that Ray Bradbury predicted in 1953 has started to come true.

Reading is fundamental, but not in the dystopian world of Fahrenheit 451 where knowledge is dangerous. The movie will finally air May 19th on HBO after a few years of development. The story tackles censorship and has ironically been banned by schools from administration who did not understand what the book was about. Another main theme of Fahrenheit 451 is about the dangers of an illiterate society infatuated with mass media and the threat of minority and special interest groups to books, which remains just as true today, if not more, than it did when it was first written. Michael B. Jordan Burns It All Down in New Fahrenheit 451 Trailer

Lucasfilm has finally released the final, full-length trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story. Ron Howard promised that the new trailer would be released soon, but many did not expect it to be released on a Sunday. Howard has used social media to regularly update the progress of the Star Wars movie since he took over last summer. Most of the pictures that he shared were pretty cryptic and have since started to shed light on the status of the production. As of last week, the score was finished, and the digital effects were almost complete.

We received our first look at the Solo movie in February during the Super Bowl rush and Star Wars fans criticized the debut footage for not showing enough of Alden Ehrenreich's young Han Solo. However, the new footage has more of the young Solo while being extra careful not to give anything away. The new trailer gives just enough to leave fans wanting a lot more, which is exactly what a good trailer is supposed to do. The good thing is that there's only a little over a month to go before Solo hits theaters.

One of the villains in the Solo is Enfys Nest and we recently learned that the character is played by a woman, though the identity of the actor behind the mask remains unknown. Enfys Nest leads a band of marauders called the Cloud Riders and according to new reports, the character actor is contracted for two more movies. There's still plenty that isn't clear about the character, but it certainly seems that a sequel could come along, depending on the success of Solo.

As for tracking, Solo is looking to debut just below Rogue One, is set to take in $150 million opening weekend, which is just shy of the $155 million that Rogue One pulled in. Additionally, the forthcoming standalone Star Wars movie is estimated to end up with a final box office total of anywhere from $390 million to $475 million, which would put it below Rogue One's total of over $532 million. Solo is coming out right in the middle of a very busy summer box office with Infinity War and Deadpool 2 in close proximity.

After months of waiting, we finally have the new trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story and it looks even better than the initial footage that we were treated to at the beginning of the year. From here on out, this is the last full-length trailer that we will get until the movie hits theaters on May 25th. However, we will more than likely get some new TV spots and some more promotional tie-in commercials along the way. It looks that the promotional campaign has taken a cue from The Last Jedi and Infinity War with a highlight on secrecy, so we won't really have to worry about spoilers until Solo premieres at Cannes on May 15th. Solo: A Star Wars Story Trailer #2: I've Got A Really Good Feeling About This

Welcome to paradise. The new trailer for Future World, the latest James Franco movie, has arrived. And it takes the actor-director into an Apocalyptic Wasteland, surrounding him with quite the eclectic cast. This is Franco's directorial follow-up to The Disaster Artist, but don't look for the same type of critical praise. This is standard issue Drive-In movie fare with a twist.

You can watch the fight to save humanity in the new trailer for Future World, which was actually co-directed by James Franco and Bruce Thierry. Suki Waterhouse joins in on the fun. The two are joined by Jeffrey Wahlberg, Margarita Levieva, Snoop Dogg, Geirge Lewis Jr., and Cliff "Method Man" Smith. That's more than enough cast for any movie, to be sure. But both Lucy Liu and Milla Jovovich are also coming along for the ride.

This apocalyptic thriller follows Prince (Jeffrey Wahlberg) as he travels from a desert oasis through dangerous barren waste lands to find a near-mythical medicine to save the life of the Queen, his mother (Lucy Liu). You catch it in select theaters, On Demand, and on iTunes & Amazon May 25, 2018! Though, it will be facing off against some pretty stiff competition, as that's the same day Lucasfilm and Disney are unleashing Solo: A Star Wars Story into theaters. And we probably don't have to guess which one is going to capture the country's attention first. But if you want to stay away from the box office crowds, this is a nice streaming alternative.

Inside a desert oasis, a queen (Lucy Liu) lays dying as her son Prince (Jeffrey Wahlberg) travels across barren waste lands to find a near-mythical medicine to save her life. After evading violent raiders on motorbikes led by the Warlord (James Franco) and his enforcer (Cliff "Method Man" Smith), Prince meets Ash (Suki Waterhouse), the Warlord's robot sex companion-assassin who's in search of her own soul. As Prince is captured by the Druglord (Milla Jovovich), the Warlord's forces roar in, and Prince fights to save the remnants of humanity.

Directors James Franco and Bruce Thierry Cheung are working from a script written by Bruce Thierry Cheung, Jeremy Craig Cheung, Jay Davis. The movie is produced by Scott Reed, Andrea Iervolino, Monika Bacardi, Vince Jolivette, Jay Davis. Arriving from Lionsgate Premiere, the movie is rated R for violence, sexual content/nudity, language and drug use.

This is James Franco's first major release since he was accused of sexual misconduct by a number of former students. The allegations mostly got Franco shut down at the Oscars after he walked away with a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a comedy. The news kind of fell out of the media cycle, so it will be interesting to see how Franco is welcomed back into the spotlight for his work rather than his notorious alleged activities. Future World Trailer Throws James Franco Into an Apocalyptic Wasteland

It's almost unbelievable. But here we are. The first trailer for The Meg has arrived. And it's nothing short of a miracle. It seems like forever that this movie has been in development. Based on the nationwide bestseller, it takes the idea of a shark attack and bloats it like a dead whale to unimaginable proportions.

In The Meg, A deep-sea submersible, part of an international undersea observation program, has been attacked by a massive creature, previously thought to be extinct, and now lies disabled at the bottom of the deepest trench in the Pacific. With its crew trapped inside.  With time running out, expert deep sea rescue diver Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham) is recruited by a visionary Chinese oceanographer (Winston Chao), against the wishes of his daughter Suyin (Li Bingbing), to save the crew, and the ocean itself, from this unstoppable threat: a pre-historic 75-foot-long shark known as theMegalodon. 

What no one could have imagined is that, years before, Taylor had encountered this same terrifying creature.  Now, teamed with Suyin, he must confront his fears and risk his own life to save everyone trapped below. Jason Statham (Spy, Furious 7, The Expendables films) leads an ensemble cast. He is joined by award-winning Chinese actress Li Bingbing (Transformers: Age of Extinction, Forbidden Kingdom, The Message). The movie is directed by Jon Turteltaub (the National Treasure movies, Last Vegas).

The first image from The Meg arrived just last week, as Jason Statham gave an extensive interview about his experiences making the movie. He had this to say about his preparation for the role of a guy who likes to get in the deep water with the world's most dangerous sharks.

"On the early stages of the prep, we took a trip to Fiji, and we went diving with some bull sharks. They hand-feed them and it's a spectacular thing to see. These things are three meters in length, huge big things. There were 20 or 30 of these things, and they were hand-feeding (them) big tuna heads, and we got very, very close, and it was a spectacular moment. To swim in close proximity to a big, three-meter shark, is to be recommended to all and everyone."

The actor went into more details, describing some of the SCUBA diving trips he had to endure. He says this.

"You know, it's funny, because you get anxiety when you're on the boat. But once you get in the ocean, things take a very different turn. You get very relaxed, and when you're in their environment, it's quite a tranquil sort of thing, the anxiety goes away completely. It's remarkable to experience. All of the fear, or the perceived fear, is done in your own head before you get down there with them. Once you're swimming down there with all the other divers, it's phenomenal. It's one of the greatest experiences you could have, for me anyway. I'm a big SCUBA diver fanatic. Wherever I am in the world, if I get a chance to get in the ocean, I do."

Jaws is, was and always be the ultimate shark movie. And people hold a fondness for Deep Blue Sea. It looks like we may finally have a contender for another classic in the small genre that is the true Shark attack movie, even though cable has been bombarded with cheap knock-offs. The Meg Trailer: Jason Statham Vs. the World's Biggest Shark

Stephen King's IT has been a beloved horror novel from the very beginning. However, it was the 1990 adaptation that made Pennywise the clown a horror icon. Now, a new documentary will take a deep-dive look at the 1990 adaptation, which was done as a two-part miniseries that more or less serves as two short movies or one long movie. The second trailer for Pennywise: The Story of IT promises an awful lot for hardcore horror and Stephen King fans.

The trailer was released by Dead Mouse Productions and, though it isn't what one would call flashy, as it mostly just revolves around cheap animations and text on a screen, what the trailer spells out does sound of interest to many. This new IT documentary will include tons of interviews with the cast and crew, new photos from the making of the miniseries, as well as exclusive behind the scenes footage. If you have a fondness for Tim Curry's portrayal of Pennywise the clown, that could make this documentary well-worth your time. But it is a little hard to tell, since they include very little actual footage in this teaser. Here's what to expect, according to the makers of the documentary.

"Pennywise: The Story of IT' is a feature length documentary from the makers of 'RoboDoc: The Creation of RoboCop' and 'You're so cool, Brewster! The Story of Fright Night'. Featuring over 40 interviews with the cast and crew (including Tim Curry) of Tommy Lee Wallace's 1990 TV classic 'Stephen King's IT.' This documentary will explore the legacy of the show as well as the cultural impact that Pennywise has had on a generation of fans. With hours of never-before-seen behind the scenes footage and exclusive photos 'Pennywise' will be the ultimate celebration of this much loved classic and will also be a lasting tribute to the remarkable work of the one of cinema's greatest character actors Mr. Tim Curry."

Even if this doesn't have the most amazing production value, the timing couldn't really be better. Director Andy Muschietti's movie adaptation of IT wound up becoming a cultural phenomenon last year, ultimately grossing $700 million at the worldwide box office and becoming the highest-grossing horror movie ever. While there are many factors that contributed to the success, a certain amount of the initial excitement as no doubt fueled by the nostalgia and love many have for the 1990 version of IT.

There's also Bill Skarsgard's instantly iconic take on Pennywise, which wouldn't really have been possible without what Tim Curry did before him. Andy Muschietti even snuck Curry's Pennywise into the IT movie as a doll in one scene. So IT is as popular as it has ever been, and many horror fans are feeling a little impatient while waiting for IT: Chapter 2 to get underway, which is set for release on September 6, 2019. Story of IT Trailer Promises to Expose the Truth Behind Pennywise

Sometime during the night, Warner Bros. unleashed the savage first trailer for The Meg. And it's a lot of fun for lovers of shark mayhem. There have been an infinite number of goofy great white flicks released in the past decade, mostly crafted for the SYFY channel. These Z grade schlock fests are mindlessly entertaining and often a blast. Now comes one of these movies made on a decent budget with a pretty kickass cast and some actual thought put into its execution. The results look absolutely delicious. As in an ocean full of Chinese tourists delicious. Now, we get a second trailer tailor made for those Chinese tourists. And it adds in some scary new megalodon footage we didn't get to see the first time around.

This latest trailer showcases how truly jaw-dropping and scary this thriller is going to be in IMAX 3D. The Meg is what the format was made for. We also get a coupe of new international posters that do a good job of showing off the massive size of the beast at the heart of this tale. And it is literally awesome in every sense of the word. This bad bitch puts every other giant shark to shame.

Jason Statham will be the one going up against this mouth full of teeth that is the size of a football field. And he gets to bring acclaimed Chinese actress Li Bingbing along for the ride. Also tagging along is the hugely popular Ruby Rose, who looks just as snarly as ever. Rounding out the international cast of characters is Cliff Curtis (Fear the Walking Dead), Rainn Wilson (The Office, Super), Winston Chao (Skiptrace, Kabali), Page Kennedy (TV's Rush Hour), Jessica McNamee (The Vow), Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (The BFG), Robert Taylor (Focus, Longmire), Sophia Shuya Cai (Somewhere Only We Know), and Masi Oka (Hawaii Five-0, Heroes). Here's the official Meg synopsis.

Warner Bros. tried forever to get this adaptation of Steve Alten's New York Times best-selling book into theaters. Eli Roth was supposed to direct The Meg, but left to do Death Wish with Bruce Willis instead. Stepping into take the helm was John Turteltaub of National Treasure. He is directing the film from a screenplay by Dean Georgaris and Jon Hoeber & Erich Hoeber. The Meg will bring the summer movie going season to a close in style on August 10, 2018. And judging from the two trailers released thus far, courtesy of Warner Bros., this thing is gong to be a massive hit at the box office that reflects the size and weight of its title creature.
